The San Francisco Fire Youth Academy sponsored by the San Francisco Black Firefighters Association is open to high school youths interested in joining the fire service. Our goal is to teach basic firefighting skills and a general understanding of the fire service while assisting in the development of interpersonal skills.

The Youth Academy meets every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the San Francisco Black Firefighters Association Headquarters, 4936 Third Street, in San Francisco. Some of the firefighting skills taught include:

The San Francisco Fire Youth Academy has been given overwhelming promises of support from local churches, community groups, community leaders, and local high school and college campuses. Also, our proposal has found favor with some organizations for mutually beneficial collaborations and potentially gracious funding in the near future. With all this support we are in need of only one more thing— YOUR support.
